Sites shortlisted for new housing in Adderbury
19/01/2026

As part of Cherwell’s new local plan the village will need to accommodate 75 new homes
People living in Adderbury are being invited to comment on potential new sites for housing in the village as part of a consultation on updating Adderbury’s Neighbourhood Plan.
The village’s Parish Council says that as Adderbury is deemed a “large village” it will be required to accommodate 75 new homes as part of the new Local Plan for the Cherwell District, which is currently being updated.
Consultants have assessed a number of potential sites and drawn up a shortlist of four for consideration.
One of these is south of the Twyford Road between the existing housing and the Let’s Play Project. A second sits north of the Aynho Road, opposite the Pickled Ploughman pub, with the third behind the southern end of Walton Avenue.
The remaining, fourth plot is at the other end of Adderbury, opposite the prospective new sports field on the southern side of the Milton Road.
A public consultation has begun today and villagers are being asked to place the four sites in order of preference. The consultation closes on February 16
Drop in Q&A sessions will be held in Adderbury Church House on February 4 from 6-8pm and February 7 from 2-4pm.
