New support group for adults bereaved by suicide

The group will meet monthly so no one has to face bereavement by suicide alone

A new peer-led support group for adults bereaved by suicide is launching in Banbury this week.      It will offer a safe and understanding space for people coping with loss.

“Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide” will meet for the first time this Thursday from 6.30pm.   Sessions will then run monthly on the first Thursday of each month.

Each year, an estimated 810,000 people in the UK are affected by suicide loss.   Organisers say the shock, unanswered questions and lingering stigma can leave many people feeling isolated and unsure where to turn.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide provides free, confidential support through in-person and online groups, a telephone helpline and a 24-hour community forum, all led by people with lived experience.

The charity says its aim is to ensure no one has to face bereavement by suicide alone, offering mutual support in the weeks, months and years after a loss.

More information on the new Banbury meeting is available by emailing [email protected] or calling 07946 040308.
