The Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson, has written to the headteachers of the three Banbury primary schools, to congratulate the staff and pupils on their dedication and hard work to deliver high attainment during the last academic year.
Hardwick Primary School, Orchard Fields Community School and The Grange Community Primary School were identified as amongst the best in the country for supporting the achievements of disadvantaged pupils.
Banbury’s MP Sean Woodcock offered his congratulations on the school’s “excellent outcomes”.
Across the country the government is seeking to strengthen its Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) programme – a service which provides high-quality resources, promoting effective practice and facilitating collaboration, with the aim of creating a self-improving school system.
Hardwick, Orchard Fields and The Grange schools have been asked by the Education Secretary to support the work of the South East’s RISE networks, partnering with other schools in Banbury.
Bridget Phillipson, said: “These schools’ performances place them among the very best nationally, and this is a significant achievement.
“This success reflects the dedication of the staff and the hard work of pupils. It shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together.
“These achievements demonstrate what is possible, and I look forward to working with the teams as we strive together to raise standards for all.”
Sean Woodcock added: “I want to congratulate Hardwick Primary School, Orchard Fields Community School and The Grange Community Primary School for all their hard work.
“Labour is going further to break down barriers to opportunity, so every child can achieve and thrive.
“I look forward to working with the schools to spread best practice across Banbury, delivering our Plan for Change and giving local children the best start in life.”
