Crews from three stations attended

A vehicle fire on the M40 led to the northbound carriageway being closed for around 30 minutes last night (Sunday).

It happened between junction 10 at Ardley and 11 at Banbury.

Emergency services were called at 11.17pm with fire crews from Banbury, Bicester and Kidlington heading to the scene.

They arrived to find the vehicle fully ablaze and a running fuel fire spreading on the carriageway.

The owner had safely left the vehicle and was unhurt.

Once the fire was extinguished Highways England Traffic officers and Thames Valley Police reopened the carriageway.
