Resurfaced Horton View tennis courts open
21/04/2026

The project included improved weather resistance and clearer court markings
The tennis courts at Horton View in Banbury have been fully resurfaced, just in time for Banbury Tennis Club’s open day this Saturday.
The work was organised by Banbury Town Council to bring the facilities up to a modern standard.
The refurbished courts have improved weather resistance and clearer court markings and take them to the same standard as the tennis courts in People’s Park, following their refurbishment in 2024.
Yesterday (Monday) Banbury’s Town Mayor, Councillor Kieron Mallon, officially opened the newly refurbished courts at Horton View.
He said, “Having worked with the Tennis Club and Banbury Town Council on this project I am proud to formerly open the refurbished courts. Who knows where the next Wimbledon champion will hail from, but if local youngsters have a chance to play on a proper court and part of a recognised club, they will have the best start in a sport that they may enjoy for a lifetime”.
