The latest figures show more people seen within four hours than twelve months ago
Banbury’s MP has welcomed the news that waiting times at our local hospital Accident and Emergency units are improving.
New data shows that 80.2 percent of people are now seen within four hours in the units at the Horton General Hospital or John Radliffe in Oxford.
Sean Woodcock points to this being an 11.8 percent improvement in the last year.
Government figures show that across the country A&E waiting times are now the shortest in more than four years, and NHS waiting lists are almost 400,000 lower than at the General Election.
Mr Woodcock said: “We want to see waiting times at A&E dramatically improve – here in Oxfordshire and around the country. But these figures show we are heading in the right direction, with an 11.8 percent improvement in patients seen within 4 hours in A&E at [the Oxford University Hospitals] Trust over the last year.
“I am pleased that across the country, NHS waiting lists are getting shorter and ambulances are arriving faster too. That is a direct result of the investment and reform delivered by this Labour Government.”
