Five fund raisers brave the descent to raise vital cash for the hospice
Five brave individuals leant back and then stepped off the top of a 127-metre-high Northampton landmark at the weekend – all in aid of a popular local charity.
Pat Blank, Dion Bishop, Peter Critchley and Darren Dean were joined by Steph Lawless, who is the head of fundraising at Katharine House Hospice, for an abseiling challenge at the iconic National Lift Tower. The huge structure is today used as a research and development facility and was originally built to test lifts.
After being attached to a descent rope the intrepid abseilers lent out at the top of the structure and then walked backwards down the building.
So far their fund raising endeavour has generated more than £5,000 for Katharine House.
