One person taken to hospital after four vehicle M40 crash

Six miles of congestion built up on the southbound carriageway towards Banbury
One person needed hospital treatment after a four-vehicle accident on the M40 approaching Banbury this morning. The rush hour crash happened at around 7.45am.
The southbound carriageway between junction 12 at Gaydon and junction 11 was closed completely whilst emergency services dealt with the situation.
The accident happened approaching the Burton Dassett country park.
The motorway’s southbound carriageway was closed at around 8am. By the time one lane was reopened, just before 9am, six miles of congestion had built up with delays of around 40 minutes.
One ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the accident, giving one patient treatment on the scene before taking them to hospital. They have non-serious injuries.
