Banbury Market set to return
19/05/2020
A taste of normality in sight as market food traders return
From this Saturday a number of Banbury Market’s essential food traders will return to Banbury’s Market Place. The market will operate on slightly restricted hours, running from 9am to 3pm.
The popular twice weekly market has been cancelled since the start of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. For the first market since the slight relaxation of lockdown, measures will be in place to ensure social distancing is enforced.
Current government guidelines only allow essential food traders at outdoor markets. This Saturday will see a return for Brian & Rocky with their fruit and vegetable stall, Nash’s Bakery and Nick from Curds & Whey. From next Thursday (28th May) the street food traders will also return. Other traders won’t be able to return until the government guidelines change.
During the lockdown Brian and Denise from BC Fruits have been operating a delivery service and they plan to continue offering this service each Friday.
