Man requires hospital treatment following altercation with gang carrying knives
A man and a teenage boy were involved in what police are describing as an “altercation” with a gang of four people carrying knives in Bodicote last Thursday (11 June). The man, who is in his forties, required hospital treatment following the incident.
The victims were in The Rydes in Bodicote at around 1.50pm when the incident happened. Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses.
A phone was stolen during the altercation and the adult victim sustained an arm injury. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Four people were arrested following the incident, all of whom are from Banbury, two aged 16, one 20 and the other 22. All four have since been released on police bail.
Investigating officer, PC Kelly Williams, based at Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has any information about the incident to please come forward.
“I believe there were two people walking by just seconds before the assault happened, therefore I would urge these individuals to get in touch as you may have information that could assist with the investigation.
“Furthermore, I would ask anyone with a dash-cam or personal CCTV to check any footage in case it may have captured what happened.
