Police seek witnesses after two males assaulted a motorcyclist

A motorcyclist was punched and had his motorbike kicked over during an incident on the Oxford Road in Banbury on Monday evening (June 27).   The assault happened at around 8pm at the Sainsbury’s junction.

Following a dispute over driving a man got out of his vehicle and assaulted the motorcyclist by punching him in the face.   A second man then got out of another car and also assaulted the motorcyclist. His motorbike was also kicked over.

Thames Valley Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

The first offender is described as an Asian man in his late twenties. He was driving a silver Mercedes Benz.

The second offender is also described as an Asian man in his late twenties. He was driving a grey Volkswagen Golf.

The victim, who was wearing full motorcycle gear at the time, sustained bruising to his face but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating Officer PC Robert Crofts, based at Banbury police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area at this time or was driving past and witnessed anything, or who has dash cam footage, to please get in touch.
