Classic vehicles, music, arts and culture will come together as part of the festival

A popular village festival is set to return tomorrow (Saturday).   After a three year pause due to the pandemic, classic vehicles, music, art and culture will come together in Deddington as part of Deddy Fest 2022.

A Children’s Festival will include a number of workshops featuring the local children’s author Sarah Mahfoudh, the award winning Muddy Feet Forest School, Mini Professors and weaving and chocolate.   Places are pre-bookable and run alongside a host of free activities.

Deddy Car Fest will bring a high octane collection of vehicles to the Market Place with paid passenger rides available in Ferraris, Porsches, Jaguars, an Aston Martin, a  Bentley, and a Cobra.  Vehicles from the Prodrive Heritage Collection will be on display alongside a BAR Formula One car and many other covetable classics.

The headliners for Deddy Rocks are the four-piece tribute band Queen II, who will recreate the energy, excitement and emotion of a classic Queen concert in the Market Place. Also in the line up are local band Cold Blue Daze, The Knights of Mentis and The Dave Arrowsmith Band.

Meanwhile at the Holly Tree Rooms in Horsefair an art exhibition and sale will showcase the impressive talents of local artists, potters and sculptors between 10am and 5pm.

Festival Chair Elli Ince said: “Finally the time has come, once again, for our Parish and our neighbours to come together to enjoy what has been Deddington Festival for over sixteen years. This year’s Festival contains something for everyone. We hope that you will be delighted with all that is on offer.”

The Children’s Festival runs from 11am until 2pm in Deddington Church, with Deddy Car Fest starting at midday and Deddy Rocks from 2pm.
