Police recover knives during car searches and face assaults during busy weekend
Thames Valley Police officers confiscated four concealed knives during two separate car searches over the weekend. One of the knives recovered had an 18 inch blade.
The first knife was found on Saturday when officers stopped a vehicle on Ermont Way. The driver became obstructive but officers managed to search both him and the car. A knife was found. The vehicle was also seized as it had no insurance.
Later on during a routine vehicle stop on Lambs Crescent officers discovered three large knives, one with an 18inch blade. These were all hidden within the car. A 24 year old male was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
Meanwhile officers arrested another man in a separate incident for being found in possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken into police custody.
Two other individuals – a 22 year old male and a 22 year old female – were arrested in separate incidents for assaulting police officers. They were both taken into custody.
