Brian Pile will give a talk on Banbury’s Cattle Market.
Midland Marts ran the mart from 1925 – when it moved to a ‘new’ site next to the railway station from Bridge Street, known then as Cow Fair – until 4 June 1998.
The cattle market was the largest in the UK and one of the largest in Europe. Many people were shocked at the disappearance of the mart.
Visitors are very welcome to attend this talk at £5.00.
