The Canal Festival will celebrate the history of the canal and feature boat trips, a floating market, dancing and funfair rides.
The Sealed Knot will re-live scenes from the English Civil War.
A Tooley’s Boatyard visitors will be able to take trips on the Dancing Duck and Comet. The yard’s historic forge, dry dock and machine shop will be open, with demonstrations in the forge. The dry dock will feature music, comedy and theatre. Plus, you’ll be able to see displays of tools, artefacts and pictures, alongside Banbury Model Engineers wonderful scale models. The 83 year old wooden narrowboat Hardy is currently undergoing restoration.
Music will include live performances from local artists, with a folk festival in the General Foods social club garden.
Dance performances will take place outside the Mill Arts Centre.
Chamberlaine Court car park will be packed with food and drink stalls.
Additional market stalls will be in the car park below Lidl.
The festival will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm both days.
