Ian Sandford
Meet the man who played football against former Banbury United Manager Mike Ford as a schoolboy and has stories to tell after he partied with Motorhead following one of their gigs!
Ian joined Banbury FM late in 2021. He’s been presenting radio shows since the age of 12 and has presented on a number of radio stations in both Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire since 1999.
Football and music are two of Ian’s loves. He’s a big fan of non-league football and regularly commentates on National League North games, where both Banbury United and Brackley Town play.
When not behind a microphone in a radio studio or commentary box Ian loves to attend gigs. His first was watching Motorhead at Birmingham Odeon. That was when he managed to sneak into the nearby hotel where Motorhead’s party was underway. He won’t tell us what he saw apart from admitting it was “a bit of an eye opener” – he was only 15 at the time!
