15-year-old suffers broken leg during Spiceball Park GBH

A 14 and 16 year old have been arrested following the assault on Thursday

A fifteen-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a broken leg after he was assaulted by a group of youths in Banbury. The incident of grievous bodily harm happened behind the skate park area in Spiceball Park on Thursday (August 10) at around 5pm.

The boy was with his friends at the time when a group of around 10 to 15 males began shouting at him. He was then punched in the face several times. As the assault continued the victim’s leg was broken. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Two boys from Banbury, aged 14 and 16, have been arrested as police investigate the assault, both of whom have been released on bail until November 10.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer, PC Josh Holloway, said: “This was a very serious assault which resulted in the victim requiring hospital treatment for a broken leg.

“I would like to speak to anyone who saw this happen, or who has any other information which could help our appeal.
