Fairport Convention planning to provide their festival spirit online this year
Fairport Convention’s annual Cropredy Convention may have been cancelled this year, but the band still plan to provide a day of Fairport entertainment on Saturday August 15th.
Whilst there won’t be an opportunity to meet physically in the fields at Cropredy there will be a chance to “meet on the web”. The band have announced they will be streaming a Fairport’s Cropedy Connection on their youtube channel on what would have been the 2020 festival closing night.
Fairport say the stream will be a mix of great music and chat spiced with “lashings of the inimitable Cropredy vibe”.
Drawing on performances from Cropredy 2019, the evening’s entertainment will include Richard Thompson’s complete set with guests Zara Phillips, Dave Mattacks, Simon Nicol and Dave Pegg.
The stream will also include Fairport Convention’s entire two and a half hour show.
Further details will be made available in the coming weeks but it has been announced that the stream will be made available free of charge.
Fairport say, “All you need to do is don your Cropredy t shirts, pour yourself a 6x and head for YouTube to enjoy the fun!”.
