COVID-19 infection rates down as lockdown takes effect

150 new infections in Banbury FM area in the week ending 20th November
The latest COVID-19 figures have been released up to the end of last week and they show lockdown restrictions having an effect on local infection rates.
Last week new infections in the Banbury FM area in a seven day period totalled 150. During the previous 7 day period it had been 199.
The number of positive COVID-19 tests fell in most parts of our area, apart from Middleton Cheney and Chipping Warden which saw a slight increase from 20 to 29 new cases. However, this is still down from a previous high of 55 three weeks ago.

The figures come as it is announced Banbury and the surrounding villages will be in tier 2 – high alert level when lockdown finishes next week. Prior to lockdown the area had been on tier 1.
