Nursery blaze caused by accidental electrical fire
03/12/2020

Fire investigators complete their work after fire on Tuesday evening
The cause of the blaze at the Smart Tots Day Nursery and Pre-School on the Horsefair earlier this week was an accidental electrical fire. Specially trained fire investigators from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue reached that conclusion at the end of their work.
Fire appliances from Banbury, Hook Norton and Deddington Fire Stations along with a hydraulic platform from Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service attended the incident on Tuesday evening. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to surrounding buildings.
The fire was first reported at 5.02pm. Staff and children had safely evacuated the building and were able to utilise the Whately Hall Hotel for shelter.
