Warning to parents that they could face a fine
Parents are being told they could face a fine if their children breach COVID-19 rules. The warning follows the discovery of a group of 20 youngsters gathered in Middleton Cheney yesterday afternoon (Wednesday April 7).
Officers from Northants Police dispersed the group who had gathered at the Astrop Road Recreation Ground.
In a message posted on social media the stark question was asked of parents: “Where is your child at the moment?”. The post went on to warn “Please get them home or risk a £200 fine”.
Under current COVID rules outdoor gatherings (including in private gardens) of either 6 people or 2 households are the maximum permitted.
