Banbury Lions fund new kayak for sea cadets
21/04/2021
More youngsters will be able to take to the water this summer thanks to club’s generosity
The Lions Club of Banbury have made it possible for more young people to engage in water-sports this summer. The club has donated funds to buy a brand new kayak for Banbury Sea Cadets.
The new boat is a Dagger GTX Max.
Probationary Petty Officer Aaron Austin said: “[The new kayak] gives us an extra advantage for training cadets with an extra boat, meaning that we have more availability for the cadets to go out on the water.
“The donation means a lot to the unit, both staff and cadets combined.
“With the weather getting nicer each day we’ve resumed boating down at Grimsbury reservoir.”
The Sea Cadets are the latest local organisation to benefit from the fund raising efforts of Banbury Lions, a club of men and women who want to put something back into the local community. You can find out more about Banbury Lions here. https://www.banburylions.co.uk/
