Members of the public and school and town council staff thanked after stopping to help after three cars collided
Community spirited people in Brackley have been thanked after they stepped in to help at the scene of a car accident yesterday. Members of the public, school staff and staff from Brackley Town Council all helped the emergency services in dealing with the situation.
The public response has been described by a member of the Northants Police Neighbourhood Team as “community spirit at its best”.
The accident involving three vehicles happened near Southfield School on the Banbury Road at around 3.25pm.
Members of the public came forward and provided assistance to those involved until the police could speak to them.
A number of people also brought out brooms and swept up the debris from the collision.
Staff from Brackley Town Council and Southfield School helped with traffic management. The Council staff then helped tow a car off the road.
A member of the Northants Police Neighbourhood Team told Banbury FM: “This all allowed the road to be cleared quickly and provided additional safety for those involved at the scene.
“It’s always amazing to see the community willing to help and pull together to support its residents and emergency services.”
No one was injured during the accident.
