Bloxham Road through the Barfords closed
27/04/2021
Partial reconstruction of the bridge over the River Swere needed
The Bloxham Road linking Barford St Michael to Barford St John has been closed whilst emergency repairs are organised for the bridge over the River Swere. A notice to prohibit the use of the road by all motor vehicles came into force yesterday (April 26).
The notice, issued by Oxfordshire County Council, says the closure is to facilitate the partial reconstruction of the bridge. Traffic entering Barford St John can still use the road from Bloxham. However, drivers needing to access Barford St Michael are having to use roads from Hempton.
The anticipated completion date for the work is the 16th of May.
