Witness appeal following man’s unexplained serious head injury
A man has been left with serious head injuries after an assault in Bodicote on Sunday evening. Police are now appealing for witnesses.
The incident happened as a couple walked home along Sideleigh Road in the village at around 10.30pm. The woman was walking ahead and lost sight of her partner. When she retraced her steps she found him lying down with a serious unexplained head injury.
It is believed two men were seen running away towards East Street but no descriptions are currently available. Officers believe an altercation took place.
The victim required treatment at the Horton General Hospital for the injuries to his head.
Investigating officer PC Bethany Foster, based at Banbury police station, said: “We believe that the victim has been injured during an assault.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have any information about this incident to come forward.”
