Town Council election results

The Conservative Party keep control of Banbury Town Council

Thursday’s local elections saw the Conservative Party keep control of Banbury Town Council with an increased majority.   The Tories now have 13 seats (up one) and Labour nine (down one).

Ten of the councillors that had being serving on the town council did not re-stand this year.   They were Deputy Town Mayor Surinder Dhesi, Hannah Banfield, Nathan Bignell, Colin Clarke, Lucy Donaldson, Nick Harrison, Alastair Milne Home, Tony Mepham, Gordon Ross and Tina Wren.

Four councillors from the last term who stood again were not re-elected.   They were Labour’s Claire Bell, Conservatives David Beverly and Arash Fatemian and Labour’s Sean Woodcock.

The results, announced late on Sunday, are:
