30 percent of electric blankets checked in Banbury deemed not safe
30/09/2024
Faulty blankets could cause injury or a fire
Just under one-third of the electric blankets which were recently given a safety check in Banbury failed.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue offer the free checks and ran a testing session here on September 18.
The condition of 83 blankets was examined with 25 being deemed not safe. Blankets which deteriorate could become faulty, risking injury and fire.
The electric blanket safety checks have been provided free of charge to Oxfordshire residents for 25 years.
Tests are continuing around the county this week with a session in Bicester on Wednesday (October 2).
