Students picked up their results this morning

Here’s a round-up of A Level results from across our area.

Banbury Aspirations Campus

Over 90 percent of students have secured their first-choice university places, as a result of the A Level gradings awarded today.

Amongst them a number of science students excelled.   James Lynn achieved three As (in Physics, Maths, and Chemistry) and will be heading to the University of Warwick to study Chemistry.    Winston Day’s four As in Chemistry, Maths, Physics and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) secured his place studying Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton.    Meanwhile Yunshuo Liu will begin a Biomedical Science degree at King’s College London after receiving As in Chemistry, Maths, and Biology.

In the humanities and social sciences area Evie Wilson achieved four As, leading to a course in English Literature at the University of Warwick, Amelia Christie earned an A in Geography, A in Psychology and B Law, enabling her to study Adult Nursing at the University of Sheffield.

A school spokesperson said: “As a campus, we are incredibly proud of every student’s commitment, resilience, and determination.   These results are a testament to their hard work and to the support of our dedicated staff.”


BGN

Over 85 percent of students successfully secured their first-choice university, pursuing courses as varied as Aerospace Engineering, Law, Marine Biology, Marketing, Criminology and Occupational Therapy.  Other students were successful in obtaining highly competitive degree level apprenticeships, whilst some have chosen to defer their studies to take a gap year.

The school says its thriving Sixth Form has seen a significant increase in the number of A* and A grades awarded this year.

Headteacher Niamh Dolan said: “These results are a testament to the hard work, determination and resilience shown by our students.   I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our teachers and support staff for their tireless commitment in guiding and encouraging every student to achieve their best”. 


Chenderit

Just over 71percent of students gained entry to their first-choice university, with a quarter securing places at competitive institutions such as those in the Russell Group.   Following today’s results several students will also be embarking on competitive apprenticeships.

Alfie Smith was one of the school’s top achievers.   He will be reading History and Politics at Cambridge after achieving three A* and an A.   Chloe Edwards achieved an A* and three As, Grace Broady Bennett two A* and two As and Lottie Proffitt achieved an A* and three As.

Chris Billings, Headteacher, said: “We are so happy for our Year 13 cohort who have achieved results which embody our ethos of ‘aim high, work hard and be kind’.   These results are the gateway to some wonderful destinations for our young people.

“The outcomes are a testament to their hard work, dedication and resilience. We have enjoyed celebrating with our students this morning and we wish them all every success in their next steps”.

Holly Millan, Head of Sixth Form, added: “We are all extremely excited for our Year 13 students as they embark on their next steps post-18; their commitment to learning, both academically and personally, has led to their great results and has put them in an excellent position as they move forwards into their adult lives.”


North Oxfordshire Academy

Three As (in French, English Literature and Drama) and an A* for EPQ have secured Millie Freeman a place at Balliol College at the University of Oxford, where she will study French and beginner’s Italian.

Millie is one of the three quarters of A Level examination entries which were awarded grades in the A* to C range at the North Oxfordshire Academy.

She said: “I’m very grateful for all the support I’ve had from all of my teachers and I’m very excited for my future.”

Other students at the school celebrating today include Jaedon Atkinson, who’s results have secured a place at the University of Bristol studying Physiological Science, Vova Vickers who will be studying Computer Science at Oxford Brookes University and Kai Drake-Law who is heading to the University of Southampton to study Aeronautical Engineering.

Ellie Jacobs, Principal of North Oxfordshire Academy, said: “Many congratulations to all our students receiving their results today. It is excellent to see so many of our Sixth Formers achieve the grades they were hoping for and successfully secure their next steps.

“Thank you to our fantastic Sixth Form team for the enduring support and guidance they have provided to our young people and to our students for showing such dedication to their studies and to our school more broadly. I wish them all the very best of luck for the future and look forward to hearing about all that they go on to do and achieve.” 


Tudor Hall

The vast  majority of students at Tudor Hall School have secured places at their first-choice destination following today’s A Level results, including top universities such as UCL, Durham, Exeter, York, Bristol and Newcastle.

41 percent of all grades at the school were at A* to A or equivalent grade, well above the national average at 28.3 percent.   78 percent of Tudor Hall students’ results achieved grades in the range A* to B.

Headmistress, Julie Lodrick said: “I am so pleased for this year’s cohort of Tudor girls who have achieved so highly in their examinations as well as in every element of boarding school life. The diversity of pathways their hard work and commitment has opened up is breathtaking; a real testament to the plethora of skills and opportunities they have grasped with both hands while at Tudor.

“It is also testament to the dedication, expertise and resolve of all our Tudor staff who go above and beyond to support our girls at every step.

“We know these Tudor girls can step into the bright futures that lie ahead of them with both confidence and humility, ready to give of themselves and contribute to society in every possible way.

“Their teachers and I are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and the impressive young women that they have become. I look forward to hearing of their successes and achievements and, of course, welcoming them back to Tudor as valued members of our OT community in the coming years.”

Amongst the girls who achieved A* or A grades across the board is Froggy, who will be studying PPE at Durham University.    She said: “I am thrilled with my results and very excited to be going to Durham next year. I am so grateful to all my teachers – none of this would have been possible without their constant support. Thank you to everyone at Tudor for helping me achieve these results.”


Warriner School

In Bloxham at the Warriner School just over a quarter of all today’s results came in at the top levels of A* or A grades.   Over half of the results (53 percent) were awarded A*, A or B.

A message from the school staff said they were incredibly proud of each and every one of their students.   They wrote: “Today marks the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and growth. Whether you’ve achieved the results you were aiming for or are now exploring new opportunities, your journey is a testament to your determination and resilience.

“A Levels are a significant milestone and reaching this point is a real achievement. To those celebrating success – well done! To those facing unexpected outcomes – remember, there are many paths to success, and your future remains full of promise.

“Keep believing in yourself, stay curious, and continue striving for excellence.”
