Over half of all the grades awarded at BGN were A*, A or B

The headteacher at Blessed George Napier has described the school’s sixth form students as “wonderful young leaders and excellent role models for our younger students” on the day many receive their A Level results.

Over half of all the grades awarded at BGN were A*, A or B.

Niamh Dolan said: “It is testament to their hard work, resilience and determination that they have been so successful.

“I would like to thank our teachers for the care, dedication and support they have given which has helped our students to be ready to take the next steps in their education journey.”

Many of the students now plan to move on to university or higher and degree level apprenticeships.    Places are being taken on courses including physiotherapy, veterinary science, physics and astro physics, modern languages, economics, film and TV studies, along with nursing, biomedicine, computer science and history.

A few will be taking a gap year to travel and gain work experience.

Ms Dolan added: “Whatever their plans, we look forward to hearing about all their adventures.

“We wish all our students every success for the future.”
