“We are immensely proud of our Year 13 cohort who have achieved fantastic results”

Fifty-one percent of all this year’s A Level results at Chenderit School were graded A*, A or B and one in five were the top ratings of A* or A.

One student, Ibrahim Assani, achieved 3 A*s and an A.   He plans to study law at the University of York and wants to become a barrister.  On receiving his results Ibrahim said: “I am shaking – I cannot believe it.   I am so happy.   I was not expecting to get these results.”   His mum expressed her thanks to all the staff at Chenderit.

Jane Cartwright is Chenderit’s Headteacher.   She said: “We are immensely proud of our Year 13 cohort who have achieved fantastic results, embodying our ethos of ‘aim high, work hard and be nice’.

“These examinations were the first set of external assessments that this cohort have sat owing to the cancellation of the GCSE examinations during the pandemic, and the fantastic outcomes that they have all achieved (which are in line with or better than our 2019 results) are a testament to our students’ hard work, dedication and resilience.”

Billy Belstone, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, added: “We are all extremely excited for our Year 13 students as they embark on their next steps post-18; their commitment to learning, both academically and personally, has led to their great results and has put them in an excellent position as they move forwards into their adult lives.

“This year, the vast majority of our students have gained entry to their first choice university, with 34% of students having gained places at incredibly competitive institutions such as those in the Russell Group. We also have several students who are embarking on competitive apprenticeships with a variety of employers over the coming months and we wish each of our students success as they embark on their future plans”.
