Sixth formers set to attend top Russell Group universities after receiving their results
Courses in engineering, music, psychology and business management are amongst the next steps being taken by successful students at the North Oxfordshire Academy after receiving their A Level results today.
A number of them will be heading to a place a at top Russell Group university.
Top grade A*s for Mathematics and Physics were achieved by one student, David. He also achieved an A in Chemistry giving him what he needed to attend Imperial College London to study Materials Science and Engineering.
David said: “I am really, really happy and cannot wait to move to London. Thank you to all my teachers but a huge thanks in particular to Mr Yeomans who is a great maths teacher and who has given me a lot of support.”
A place at Lancaster University studying Psychology awaits Bradley, who four Bs in Psychology, Mathematics, Physics and his Extended Project Qualification.
He said: “I am relieved I got the results I did – I’ve been thinking about them all summer! I want to thank my teachers who were really happy to talk about my subjects with me, answer any questions, mark my extra papers and give me confidence to do well!”
Another student, Scarlett, achieved an A* in Art and Design, two Bs in Media and her Extended Project Qualification and a Distinction in Music. She will be attending Leeds Conservatoire to study Music (Popular Music).
Ellie Jacobs, Interim Principal at North Oxfordshire Academy, said: “Very well done to all our Year 13s achieving their A Level grades today. It is excellent to see so many of them securing places at their first-choice universities and being well-prepared to successfully take their next steps.
“Staff across the school have been an enduring support to our Sixth Formers over the past two years of their studies and I know all of us wish them the very best of luck for the future.”
