Accomplished organist and teacher is St Mary’s new Director of Music

Dylan McCaig has just started work in the role
St Mary’s Church in Banbury has a new Director of Music. Dylan McCaig has taken on the role. He will be known to some people as a Music Teacher and Organ Tutor at The Warriner School in Bloxham.
Mr McCaig began his musical training at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral where he was a Head Chorister and subsequently Junior Organ Scholar. He is a graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where he studied for a BMus (Hons) degree in Organ Performance, as well as teacher training specialising in Secondary Education Music from Birmingham City University.
When he graduated Mr McCaig became the Senior Organ Scholar of Liverpool Cathedral. He holds an Associateship Diploma from the Royal College of Organists and has played in masterclasses for a number of internationally renowned organists. Anyone who watches Songs Of Praise may have seen Mr McCaig playing during programmes broadcast in 2008 and 2019.
He started his role at St Mary’s within the last few days.
