Adderbury’s Party In The Park cancelled

Increasing costs have been blamed

Adderbury’s annual Party In The Park for 2025 has been cancelled with organisers saying the event is no longer financially viable.   Increasing costs have been blamed.

The popular annual day long music festival has historically run during June on the Lucy Plackett playing field.

Originally Party In The Park had been free to attend with the organisers fund-raising to cover costs.   However in 2019 they were forced to increase security and change to a ticketed event in response to youth anti-social behaviour in the village on the day of the festival.

Having cancelled this year’s Party In The Park organisers now plan to explore options for the future.

An official statement said: “With great regret, and after serious consideration the [Party In The Park] committee has come to the conclusion that due to the increasing costs of holding the event on the Lucy Placket Playing Field the event is no longer financially viable.

“The committee feels we need to look at all options, and with this in mind will not be staging the event in 2025.

“We know how much this event means to the village, as indeed it does to all of us and we are exploring what we do in the future.”
