Applications open for primary school places next September
01/11/2023
Those who apply on time are more likely to be offered places at their preferred school
Parents and carers of children in Oxfordshire who are due to start primary education in September next year can now submit details of the school they have chosen for their child.
Oxfordshire County Council suggests up to four schools should be named on the application.
Councillor John Howson, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Young People’s Services, said: “This will not make it less likely that your first preference will be offered. However, it does reduce the risk of all preferences being unsuccessful and your child being allocated a place at a school that is not named on their list.”
The window for applications opened today and closes on January 15 next year.
Councillor Howson added: “It is important to apply on time because late applications will be processed later in the year and are far less likely to secure places at preferred schools than applications received before the deadline.”
Applications can be submitted here.
Contact will be made with parents and carers with the result to their application on National Offer Day, April 16, 2024.
