Awards for Banbury Fire Station
15/09/2021
Banbury crews recognised at Chief Fire Officer Awards for Oxfordshire
Banbury Fire Station was recognised for its outstanding commitment to our area last night at the Chief Fire Officer Awards for Oxfordshire.
During the ceremony, which was at Blenheim Palace, representatives from the on-call crews received the ‘Fire Station of the Year for 2020’ award and the ‘On-Call Station of the Year for 2020’ award.
Community Safety Service employees had been asked to nominate the fire station that they believed should be recognised for outstanding commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for local communities. The nominations also recognised where the crew had made their fire station a place to be proud of based at the heart of its local community.
Three factors were taken into account when considering nominations including community safety activity, the station’s contribution to the local community and evidence of the station demonstrating Oxfordshire County Council’s values.
Some of the On Call crew from Banbury attended last night’s ceremony, heading there after dealing with a fire call!
