Awards for Puritans and Saints at National Game Awards
15/06/2022
Banbury United picked up the Team of the Year award and the Saints’ Danny Lewis was named Goalkeeper of the Year
Both Banbury United and Brackley Town claimed awards at the Non-League Paper’s National Game Awards yesterday afternoon.
The awards were held at Wimbledon’s ground – the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
Banbury United were rewarded for a high-flying season that saw Andy Whing’s team win promotion to the Vanarama National League North. Chairman Ronnie Johnson and Director Paul Duester were on hand to pick up the Team of the Year award.
Meanwhile, the Goalkeeper of the Year Award went to Brackley Town’s Danny Lewis. The award for 39-year-old Lewis follows last Saturday’s announcement that the Saints had been named winners of the Vanarama National League North Fair Play Award for the 2021-22 season.
