Banbury Cross Players seek cast for bold new Brontë sisters production

Auditions are taking place next week
Banbury Cross Players are inviting performers to audition for their next stage production, an innovative new play reimagining the lives of the Brontë sisters, which will be staged at The Mill Arts Centre in June.
The production, Underdog: The Other Other Brontë, offers an irreverent, modern retelling of the story of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë, focusing on the sibling dynamics that shaped their creative lives and their uneven rise to literary fame. Rather than portraying the sisters as reclusive figures confined to a Yorkshire parsonage, the play presents them as ambitious, passionate and forward-thinking women, determined to succeed in a male-dominated world.
The production will use a mix of musical styles, unconventional costume, and projection and lighting to enhance its visual impact.
A range of roles are available, including the three sisters. The show also features a five-actor, gender-neutral ensemble, who will play more than 30 other characters.
Auditions will take place next Wednesday and Thursday (February 11 and 12) from 7.30pm at The Mill Arts Centre. Banbury Cross Players say they are keen to hear from performers interested in being part of a visually striking and contemporary theatre production.
