Banbury driver’s tints let in just 3% of light
05/05/2023
Police officers described the tints as “ridiculous”
A driver was pulled over in Banbury last night (Thursday) after his vehicle was spotted with glass tints that let in just 3% of light.
The law states that the front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows must let at least 70% through.
At the most basic level window tinting involves applying a tinting film onto the window glass.
Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing Team said the tints were “ridiculous” and posed the question: “Is this the new record?”
They removed the tints from the vehicle and reported the driver for driving the vehicle in a dangerous condition.
