Banbury poppy appeal raises £67,500
25/11/2023
The amount raised exceeds the amount collected last year
This year’s Poppy Appeal in the Banbury area raised over £67,500 in just 16 days – and the money is still coming in.
The amount going to the Royal British Legion is up on last year’s total of £65,000.
Ahead of this year’s appeal a number of volunteers came forward and answered a call for extra collectors.
Chris Smithson is the appeal organiser. He said: “Those that volunteered should all feel very proud, especially those that have volunteered for the first time.
“Special thanks must also go to the general public, who generously donated to this year’s Poppy Appeal.”
