Banbury’s doggies set to do community walkies on Sunday
11/04/2024
The community dog walk comes as a new guide to dog-friendly places in Banbury is launched
What could be the largest community dog walk in Oxfordshire is set to take place in Banbury this Sunday.
Over 60 of our four-legged friends, and their owners, have signed-up for the free event so far.
They will put their best paws forward as they follow a route from Lock 29 across to Spiceball Park. Here they will complete a lap of the first field before following Cherwell Drive towards the RVS Cornhill Centre, where they will follow the walkway through to the Market Place.
The event is expected to take thirty minutes.
Everyone who signs up to take part before the end of today (Thursday) will receive a doggie goodie bag.
A spokesperson for Banbury BID, who have organised the community dog walk, said: “We wanted to create a way for not just dog owners but for people who love dogs as well to meet up and make new friends.
“Dog walking is a great way to keep fit and a brilliant way to socialise so we thought this would be a great way to engage with the local community.”
Those joining in should meet outside Lock 29 ten minutes before the planned walk start at 10am.
The community dog walk has been organised alongside the launch of a Dog Friendly Guide to Banbury, which notes businesses which are dog friendly in the town.
