Bin collection date changes over Christmas

19/12/2025

Both Cherwell District and West Northamptonshire Councils have issued revised collection dates

Bin collection days are set to change over the next couple of weeks due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.

People living in the Cherwell District who normally have a Thursday collection will need to set a reminder next week.   With Christmas Day falling on Thursday your bin will be collected early, next Monday (December 22).

The collection due for Friday (Boxing Day) will be pushed back to Saturday (December 27).

The following week collections on Thursday – New Year’s Day – will take place on Saturday January 3.

No garden waste collections will take place between December 22 and January 3.

In Brackley and the surrounding villages the West Northamptonshire collection due on Christmas Day has been moved to Saturday December 27.

The Boxing Day collection will instead take place on Monday December 29 and refuse operatives will empty bins due on New Year’s Day two days later, on Saturday January 3.
