Bodfest 2023 cancelled
22/03/2023
The festival in Bodicote will happen in 2024 if enough volunteers come forward
Bodfest will not be returning in the summer. Organisers have cancelled this year’s one day music festival after a number of the organising committee stepped down.
The event had been scheduled to take place on Bodicote’s Kingsfield on July 8.
Its hoped people will now come forward to secure the future of Bodfest in 2024.
Bodfest returned last year after a two-year pandemic enforced break. A number of popular local bands featured on the line-up, including Uninvited, Seven O’Clock Junkies and Bushfield Smith.
Plans for this year’s Bodfest were pulled after it became evident there weren’t enough volunteers to organise the day.
A spokesperson for Bodfest said: “This tough decision is a result of a number of committee members respectfully stepping down. This has left us with insufficient people to manage the festival smoothly and safely for everyone attending.”
The future of the festival in 2024, scheduled for Saturday July 13, now relies on people coming forward to help with the organisation.
The spokesperson added: “Bodfest urgently need new volunteers to join the committee so that we can proceed with planning a successful festival in 2024. We therefore invite anyone to join us so we can continue as a charity, supporting the community.”
Anyone interested in helping ensure Bodfest 2024 will happen is invited to attend a meeting next Monday (March 27) at 7.30pm in The Plough, Bodicote. Alternatively a message can be sent via the Bodfest Facebook page.
