Bowling and mini-golf at Castle Quay Waterside take a step closer
13/08/2021
Planning consent given for change of use of three of the units in the new cinema block
Plans to bring a new bowling and mini-golf facility to the Castle Quay Waterside development in Banbury have taken a step closer. Last night Cherwell District Council’s planning committee approved an application that will allow several of the units underneath the new cinema to be used for the indoor leisure activities.
The original intention had been that six restaurant units would be created underneath the cinema. Last night’s planning meeting heard that the amendment was being requested as a direct response to market conditions, which had made it difficult to let the 6 restaurants as originally planned. The requested amendments would allow the cinema operator to provide alternative uses for the site.
Viewing from the canal side of the development the plans show that the three units on the right-hand side of the ground floor will remain as restaurants. The three units closest to Cherwell Drive will become one large unit to house indoor bowling and mini-golf.
Councillors unanimously approved the application.
