The company says the world is becoming more digital with customers completing banking online

The Brackley branch of Lloyds Bank is going to close on March 26 next year.   The bank says the decision to shut the Market Square base in town is in response to the world becoming more digital and customers completing their everyday banking online.

Customers are being told they can use any of the bank’s other branches, the closest of which is the Banbury branch.

The bank also plans to have a Community Banker visit the area to help people with their banking transactions.

58% of the banks current in-branch customers are now aged 55 and over.   In the last five years the number of transactions completed in the branch have fallen by 65%.
