Brackley Players back on stage during busy week for local am-dram groups

18/02/2026

The group will perform three one-act plays each evening

A busy few days for our local amateur dramatics groups starts today as Brackley Players launch their 2026 season with An Evening of One-Act Plays.

Staged over three nights, the programme features three contrasting short works directed by members of the company.

The evening opens with “Is That You, Clint?” by Geoff Parker, a humorous one-woman monologue, followed by Chekhov’s comic classic “The Bear”.   In this a widow’s encounter with a debt-collecting visitor takes an unexpected turn.

“Little Grimley Saving The Planet” by David Tristram will conclude the evening, which starts at 7.30pm at Brackley Baptist Church.   Tickets are available from the Old Hall Bookshop in Brackley town centre or online at www.brackleyplayers.org, with performances running until Friday.

Elsewhere this week, tomorrow its curtains up for both Banbury Operatic Society with “The Show That Time Wrote” and  Bodicote Church Youth Drama Group’s “My Fair Lady”.   Then on Friday Odyssey Juniors present The Wizard Of Oz.
