Brackley Skate Park consultation underway
24/05/2022
A contractor to build the facility has been appointed
The contract to build Brackley’s much-anticipated Skate Park has been awarded. Maverick Skateparks will complete the work.
Maverick are a skater run business and specialise in the design and installation of spray concrete Skate Parks. The company has completed nearby projects in Steeple Claydon, Moreton in Marsh and Braunston.
Brackley’s new Skate Park will be constructed near Brackley Leisure Centre.
The project to bring Brackley a Skate Park had suffered delays after funding from developers building the housing at Turweston Road South did not become available in the anticipated timescale. To keep the project moving the Town Council secured alternative funding, enabling them to appoint a contractor to build the facility.
To shape the project a public engagement exercise will now take place, with an online survey underway. This will be followed by a face-to-face consultation meeting.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Brackley Town Council welcome your views and input so we can develop a skatepark design that is truly designed for the community of Brackley.”
The survey closes on Friday 24 June 2022 and can be found here.
