Brackley’s jubilee celebrations get lottery funding
20/05/2022
Cash will enable special extras in the town’s celebration of Her Majesty’s 70-year reign
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Brackley look set to be extra special in a couple of weeks time thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund. They have awarded £9,972 to Brackley Town Council and the town’s Jubilee Community Events Committee.
The money will be put towards the cost of the Platinum Jubilee beacon lighting event on Thursday June 2 at Brackley Rugby Club.
Organisers say the event will provide people of all ages with a wide range of music and children’s entertainment with the funds allowing for the appropriate facilities such as a stage, PA system, security, licences and waste disposal.
Georgia Connor, Communications, Marketing and Events Officer of Brackley Town Council said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can cover the basics for a carefully planned community event, whilst enabling us a little extra financial leeway to throw in those special extras in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years of service.”
