Ceiling collapse closes Adderbury Post Office
25/07/2024
It is unclear how long repairs will take
The Post Office in Adderbury has had to temporarily close after the ceiling in the building collapsed.
The branch is normally open twice a week – on both Tuesday and Friday mornings – and is a vital lifeline for the elderly in the village and those unable to travel further afield.
It is managed by Easington Post Office who are thankful none of their staff were in the building at the time.
The collapse has exposed damp and mould which the building’s landlord will need to address before the ceiling can be repaired. It is unclear how long this work will take.
Alternative temporary homes have been considered, including at Adderbury Library, but it remains to be seen whether the Post Office will support any of these. A representative is due to visit next week.
In the meantime Easington Post Office say they will do all they can to assist Adderbury’s Post Office users.
