Christmas tree-cycle scheme to benefit Hospice
04/01/2022
Pilot scheme will see trees collected from OX7 and OX15 postcodes in return for a donation
Tradition says that the Christmas decorations need to all be taken down by twelfth night, which is tomorrow (January 5). For those wondering how to dispose of their real Christmas tree one solution has been provided by the Katharine House Hospice.
The Adderbury based charity has joined forces with Acreman’s Arboriculture Ltd in Wigginton to operate a scheme which will see the trees chipped in return for a donation to the Hospice.
The environmentally friendly initiative is being run for the first time in partnership with Just Helping, a national charity that partners with hospices and community groups across the UK to manage Christmas tree collections throughout the country.
All those who sign-up will have their trees collected this Friday and Saturday (January 7 and 8).
The scheme is running as a pilot this year and so limited to those living in the OX7 and OX15 postcodes, which includes Bloxham, Deddington, Shenington, Sibford and Chipping Norton.
More information on how to take advantage of the scheme is available here.
