Cleanup begins as river levels fall
05/01/2024
The Mill Arts Centre will be back up-and-running for one show tomorrow
Flood waters are now receding in Banbury as levels in the River Cherwell begin to fall.
The Environment Agency is still warning that property flooding is possible along the course of the river south of Banbury. They highlight Wales Street in Kings Sutton as of concern.
At The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury the cleanup operation has begun. Staff managed to keep many key areas of the building dry, including the theatre. Tomorrow’s planned performance of Jack and the Beanstalk has been rescheduled for February 3, but the I’m Every Whitney tribute show will go ahead as planned.
Meanwhile Banbury’s Saturday morning parkrun has been cancelled as the course in Spiceball Park is still covered in deep puddles and debris.
